Central Connecticut College senior Madison Hughes of Oak Bluffs was one of five members of the Central Connecticut women’s lacrosse team honored by the Northeast Conference last week.
Madison finished a spectacular senior season as the team’s leading scorer, with 26 goals and 14 assists, good for 40 total points. She finished ninth in the league in points per game in conference play (2.71), and added 40 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers on the season. She started all six games this season.
A Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School lacrosse standout and 2012 grad, Madison is the daughter of Phil and Alleyne Hughes of Oak Bluffs.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported the name of Madison’s mother as Joan.
