“Blue hydrangeas —— in particular right now I like the Endless Summer BloomStruck Hydrangea, which is a new introduction. I like it because it’s reliable, reblooming, and it can take full sun and wind. Then there’s plethora or summersweet, a native plant that’s very prolific and hardy; it is great for adding ornamental value to its native surroundings. It is also a great transition plant, as well as a good pollinator plant —— so it is useful for our bees. Finally, Japanese maple; This is just one of my all-time favorite plants. This tree adds character to any landscape. There are so many ways you can use it in the landscape, and there are so many varieties with interesting foliage. Also our climate here is perfect for them.
