Martha’s Vineyard Community Tennis ( MVCT) donated four new tennis nets to the town of Tisbury. Two new nets have already been installed at the Spring Street clay courts, and the courts are ready for play. Two more nets will be installed at the Lake Street courts in the next couple of weeks.

“We really wanted to do something to help kick-start the use of the town courts,” Scott Smith, co-founding member of MVCT, said. “We really hope to see increased play at both locations this summer, and we are willing to help in any way to accomplish that.”

Martha’s Vineyard Community Tennis is a nonprofit community tennis association that has helped provide tennis uniforms for the high school teams, sponsored a cleanup day at the high school courts, provided scholarships to graduating seniors, and is a co-sponsor of the MVCT Pro-Am, which is to be held at Farm Neck Golf Club August 20, according to a press release.
