Vineyard boys tennis team nets loss against Bishop Feehan 4-1

The Vineyard boys tennis team finished its regular season at 12 and 4, with a loss at home to Bishop Feehan last Thursday. The 4-1 defeat left the Martha’s Vineyard team in second place in the Eastern Athletic Conference at 6 and 2. Seedings for the South Sectional Team Tournament will be released next Tuesday.

Boys match results saw Ben Simmons from Bishop Feehan winning first singles over the Vineyard’s Zak Danz 6-3, 7-5. Connor Downing won handily for the Vineyard against Bishop Feehan’s Collin Kane 6-0, 6-1 in second singles. Bishop Feehan’s Jer Sullivan defeated Graham Lewis 6-2, 6-2 in third singles play.

In first doubles play, Bishop Feehan was victorious with Pat and Luke Fuller winning 6-0, 6-0 against the Vineyard’s Max Hammond and James Kelliher. Bishop Feehan defeated Martha’s Vineyard in second doubles play with Tim Miller and Jack Leonard on top against Thiago Muniz and Dave Webster 6-1, 7-5.
