To the Editor:
So the annual harsh word is (already) out. There are insufficient spoiled, lazy Islanders and college students to man the sculleries, and we must bring in some motivated, hard-working foreigners (who don’t mind living in zoning-questionable barracks) to save “our” profits and entertain “our” summer customers. So sad. Decades of snob zoning and antibusiness propaganda have hit “us” right where we live (if indeed we can still afford to be here). I get an annual chuckle out of this, but who knows, maybe “45” will teach us how to take care of what is left of our own.
