Carolyn P. (Watson) Goudey, 62 years old, of Salem and Vineyard Haven, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Massachusetts General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Carolyn was the wife of Robert Goudey. She was born in Medford, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary P. (Donovan) Watson. She was raised in Medford, and was a 1972 graduate of Medford High School. She received her bachelor of science from Salem State University and her certification as a registered nurse from Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Carolyn was a certified R.N. and a certified emergency room nurse for 39 years at Boston Medical Center.
Carolyn loved a good time. She and her husband went on a total of 50 cruises. She loved her family and her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage, she leaves her three sons, Brad Goudey of Salem, Corey Goudey of Lynn, and Kevin Goudey of Salem; her sister Betty Watson; her cousin Patty Paliwoda; her grandchildren Logan Meaney and her mother Erin Meaney, Emma Goudey and her mother Mara Sorrento, and Weston and Samantha Buswells and their mother Melissa Daigle; several nieces, including Tara Friedman and Kelly McGarvey, and sister-in-law Judy Johnson. And of great importance, she leaves her dog Max, and many supportive coworkers and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, William Watson of Florida.
