To the Editor:
The Red Stocking Fund knows that it takes an Island to help families in need during the Christmas season. Once again, we are reminded that the Vineyard possesses that unique quality of sharing what we have, no matter how large or small.
On behalf of the Red Stocking Fund of Martha’s Vineyard, we thank EVERYONE who participated in helping our Island children have a wonderful Christmas. We are the grateful beneficiaries of four Island fundraisers and donations from year-round and seasonal residents, as well as from local businesses and organizations. Donations of time, money, and talents come together in a way that leaves us amazed and grateful. This year the Red Stocking honors the memory of Donald Ben David, and all he and the Harley Riders have done for our Island children for decades.
Thanks to the broad base of generosity from our Island community, both near and far, we were able make Christmas possible for more than 360 children from birth through eighth grade. We thank you for keeping these children and their families in your heart, and once again sharing what you have with others.
