After nearly five years in its current location, Bunch of Grapes Bookstore is relocating to 23 Main Street in Vineyard Haven, the two-story building formerly occupied by Juliska. The bookstore is open year-round, and hosts an extensive lineup of authors, particularly in the summer season.
The current 3,200-square-foot space, owned by the Benjamin Hall family, is now available to rent beginning in April. A classified advertisement for the space says that it could be divided. A press release issued by the bookstore states that Bunch of Grapes will stay at its current location until April 8, and then will reopen at 23 Main Street “no later than May 1.”
The anchor store in Vineyard Haven was first located at 44 Main Street, the site of a new Vineyard Vines retail space, before moving across the street to its current location. The press release says that customers can expect “to find the same broad selection of titles in the new location, with all adult books on the first floor and gifts and children’s books on the second floor.”
According to the release, there are plans in the works to include more year-round events, such as book groups and storytime offerings. The upcoming shoulder season features a visit with author Mary Gordon on June 9, and Alexandra Fuller will be at the bookstore on July 7.
