The Barn, Bowl and Bistro, now has one of the largest solar arrays in Oak Bluffs (second only to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital), according to a press release. With 94 total solar panels, it may be one of the largest commercial solar installations on the Vineyard.
“We incorporated as many green, environmentally friendly processes throughout our construction phase as we could, so it made sense to us to continue the trend with solar on the actual structure,” said Mike Sawyer, general manager.
The project, completed in February by Fullers Energy, marks the completion of the original concept of the Barn, Bowl and Bistro — a facility that includes a full-service restaurant and bar, boutique 10-pin bowling, and a large upper-level function and event space.
“We’re so very proud to be a part of the year-round community, and proud that we offer people a place to come together. It’s only natural that we’d try to do our small part to reduce our energy footprint,” explained Mr. Sawyer.
