Following a successful 2016 season, Peapod, the country’s leading online grocer, has announced it will be returning to Martha’s Vineyard on May 16. According to a press release, Peapod was the first online grocer to serve Martha’s Vineyard in 2016 with a pilot program for Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, West Tisbury, and Edgartown. After receiving a tremendous response from customers, Peapod will be returning on the ferry this summer to offer islanders the convenience of online grocery shopping. Delivery will be available twice weekly.
“We know online grocery delivery can be a huge convenience and time saver for customers seeking to maximize their summer vacation time,” said Peg Merzbacher, Peapod vice president of regional marketing. “In partnership with Stop and Shop and the Steamship Authority, we’re looking forward to providing shoppers with the additional option of door-to-door delivery service for when it fits their needs.”
