MVRHS girls tennis rolls over Spartans

The Vineyarders were unstoppable in an emphatic 5-0 victory over Eastern Athletic Conference (EAC) rivals Bishop Stang, Friday in Oak Bluffs.

MV won each of the five matches in straight sets, dropping only one game along the way. Kat Roberts defeated Sailor Nordstrom 6-0, 6-0, at first singles, Kelly Klaren topped Amanda Vasconcellos 6-0, 6-0, at second singles and Hannah Rabasca bested Kate Downes 6-1, 6-0, in the third singles match.

Lizzie Williamson and Victoria Scott stopped Dina Habboosh and Kassandra Stone at first doubles 6-0, 6-0, while the second doubles pair of Molly and Paige Pogue defeated Wendy Zheng and Caroline Downes 6-0, 6-0.

The Vineyard girls are 11-0, and begin a four-match stretch on the road, starting with a tough test on Tuesday against Foxborough High.
