Jack Roberts of Vineyard Haven, Williams College senior captain and second baseman, has been named once again to the 11-member Google Cloud District I All-Academic First Team, for
outstanding performance in the classroom and on the baseball field, a press release says.
By virtue of his District I First Team honor, Roberts will now appear on the Academic All-America ballot that will be voted on later this month by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
This season Roberts started in 29 games for the Ephs at second base, and in his Eph career he started 122 of 124 games. This spring Roberts posted an on base percentage of .346, a slugging percentage of .409, and a fielding percentage was .992.
He batted .287 this season, with 10 of his 33 hits going for extra bases: seven doubles, two triples, and one home run. He was successful on four of his five stolen base attempts.
In his career in the Purple Valley, Roberts had 152 hits in 452 at-bats for a .331 average. He scored 82 runs, belted 27 doubles, seven triples, and seven home runs, and accumulated 2,014 total bases. In addition, he drove in 102 runs, and was hit by a pitch 22 times.
