Bach and cocktails at Farm Neck

0

A lively evening of cocktails, food, live cello music from the world-renowned musician Jakub Jerzy Omsky Trawkowski, conversation, and an opportunity to support and learn more about Camp Jabberwocky is planned for Friday, August 24, from 5 to 7 pm at Farm Neck Golf Club.

The evening is hosted by Jane Price, David Schwartz, and Ilene Fischer.

Yo-Yo Ma says Trawkowski is an “extraordinarily talented and dedicated musician,” according to a press release. He’s worked as an artist in residence at several schools and universities.

Between 2005 and 2009, the release says, he was professor of cello at Wichita State University in Kansas, teaching undergraduate and graduate cello, chamber music, aural skills, jazz, and

improvisation in performance practice methods. In 2006 Trawkowski was named music director for the 100th anniversary of the Consulate General of Poland in New York City. In March 2009, in New York City, Trawkowski and 12 of his students performed the world premiere of pieces for cello ensemble commissioned by the Berlin Philharmonic.

Ticket price for the event is pay-what-you-wish, with a minimum of $1 as a donation (required to

process registration). RSVP at jabberwocky.formstack.com or for more information, email kelsey@campjabberwocky.org.
