On Tuesday, Nov. 13, public health nurse Lila Fischer and Medical Reserve Corps member Karen McPhail will teach people how to be prepared for an emergency such as a hurricane or a winter storm. At the West Tisbury library, the two will teach elements of emergency preparedness, such as creating an emergency kit, what to do with pets in emergency situations, whether to shelter in place or evacuate to a public shelter, and how to monitor emergency notification systems. This event is free and open to the public.
