Former Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School basketball player Tim Roberts, a senior at MIT, is the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week.
The award cites that Roberts averaged a double-double with 24.5 points and 11 rebounds per game to go along with 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. For the week Roberts, the NEWMAC’s leader in field goal percentage, shot 75 percent (18-for-24). After a 23-point, 13-rebound double-double in an overtime win over Tufts, he ended the week with a 26-point, nine-rebound performance at Keene State.
