On Thursday, Dec. 13, at 4:30 pm, the West Tisbury library will host a book talk with author Regina Powers in honor of her newly released book, “What Color Is Your Medicine?” According to a press release, you can come discover the five elements of Chinese medicine as a gift for anyone who is seeking to uncover the deeper insight and medicine our bodies hold. Powers’ book also offers recommendations we can take along on our own journeys. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Regina Powers is a Western-trained family nurse practitioner who works with the five elements of Chinese medicine. She lived and worked on Martha’s Vineyard in the early 2000s. Regina has a private practice which blends both her Eastern and Western trainings. Energy reaches far beyond the four walls of an exam room, so she works with many of her clients long-distance via Skype. Regina also offers workshops and retreats in the U.S. and abroad. She has created a nonprofit organization called Sol Journeys, offering programs that bring participants back into connection with themselves and the natural world by way of the five elements.
