To the Editor:
’Tis the season to express gratitude. Having lived one-third of my life here now, since 1987, I am grateful to many who have made life here so pleasant. Those who try to keep us safe deserve special praise, and unable to list them all, I’ll just name two whose lives I have followed since they were athletes and my husband and I watched them at MVRHS.
Jeff LaBell chose basketball and played heartily. Mike Snowden chose football, and we missed no home games in those years. After they finished college, both chose to return here and get involved in work for which we all can be grateful — one based in Edgartown, the other in Oak Bluffs, after a period in Tisbury. Many may not know how much they’ve done to help keep what I’ll term harmful products off the Vineyard.
They exemplify the large number of men and women for whom happy residents like me are truly grateful.
