On Tuesday mornings starting Jan. 8, Laura Jordan from Little Bird MV will lead weekly music classes for children at the West Tisbury library. According to a press release, these classes are free and open to the public.
Little Bird Music and Dramatic Play — Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11 am
Seasonal songs, movement and dramatic play. Children are encouraged to express themselves in whatever shape or form feels natural and comfortable. Recommended for ages 2-plus. Little Bird Music Class — Tuesdays from 11 to 11:30 am
Seasonal songs and movement. The class is somewhat structured, but it’s a free-flowing environment, allowing space for magic to happen in the moment. Children of all ages are welcome, and the more the merrier. No signup required. Classes will meet Jan. 8, 15, 22, and 29.
Laura Jordan was a preschool teacher in New York, where she led a French and music program before moving to the Island with her family. Her focus in working with children through music is to allow them to experience it in a way that feels natural for them, drawing out their personalities over time, while building self-confidence and letting each child shine.
