On Tuesday, Vineyard Wind announced through a press release that it submitted a Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) to the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), marking another step forward in the project to build what will be the first large-scale offshore wind energy project in the U.S.

The report submitted by Vineyard Wind reflects changes that have been made in accordance with input from the state, the town of Barnstable, where the connector cable will come ashore at Covell’s Beach to connect to the grid, and the public, according to a press release. It also opens a period of public comment that extends to Jan. 25.

Any member of the public who wishes to submit comments about the the FEIR can do so by sending an email to purvi.patel@massmail.state.ma.us, or sending comments by mail to Matthew Beaton, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), Attn: MEPA Office Purvi Patel, EEA No. 15787 (Vineyard Wind Connector), 100 Cambridge Street, Suite 900, Boston, MA 02114.
