The Community Action Committee of Cape Cod & Islands offers free tax assistance as a participant in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The program is being offered at the Dukes County Social Services office, 9 Airport Rd., Edgartown.
Trained volunteers help people with lower incomes (under $54,000), people with disabilities, and other taxpayers who have simple tax returns. Call 508-771-1727 to schedule an appointment on Tuesday, Feb. 19, and on the following Mondays: March 4, 11, 18, and 25; and April 1 and 8.
