To the Editor:
I write to express my sincere thanks to the Martha’s Vineyard Times and reporter Brian Dowd for the coverage of the the Yard’s Martha’s Vineyard Commission public hearing (March 8, “The Yard seeks to double its footprint”) last Thursday, March 7. The outpouring of support from the community and the response of the commission were incredibly exciting as the Yard looks forward to having a campus that will operate year-round to serve the Island, and particularly the up-Island community.
A year-round Yard will expand our mission of promoting creation, education, and community building through artistic practice with the improved physical capacity that is required. As we continue the process of reaching out to our friends and supporters to discuss our plans and progress, we look forward to future communications with The MV Times and our wonderful and supportive community.
