Chilmark library is the site of the Chilmark Candidates Forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday, April 6, at 3 pm. The public is invited to listen to the candidates as they present their positions and answer questions from voters.
On Wednesday, April 10, at 5 pm, Doug Cooper offers information on septic systems for homeowners during a presentation and discussion of residential systems. The talk will include the science, design, operation, and troubleshooting of septic systems for the average homeowner, as well as the impact of septic systems on the environment.
Cooper has inspected thousands of septic systems on Martha’s Vineyard since 1995, according to a press release from the library. Prior to moving to Martha’s Vineyard, he served as the chief of the State of Connecticut Wetlands Management Program for 15 years.
