Community came through

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Houses of Grace, I would like to thank the Vineyard community for amazing volunteers who staffed the overnight winter shelter program, and the many individuals and groups that donated many needed items to our shelter program. As an all-volunteer organization with limited funding, the support from the community makes an immense difference. Special thanks to the Islanders Talk Benevolent Fund, the West Tisbury School, Laurie Turney, Debbie Magnuson, Barbara Grollimund, Lisa Holley, Sandra Barbeiro Webster, LeRoux, Brooke Raymond and the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, Jen Araujo and the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, Chicken Alley Thrift Store, the Boys & Girls Club Thrift Store, and the countless individuals who donated anonymously.

We also extend deep gratitude to the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury, the Community Supper Program, and the hosting churches: St. Andrew’s Church in Edgartown, Federated Church of Edgartown, and Good Shepherd Parish Center.

We couldn’t be more grateful for our kind and giving community!
