Spring is here, and there is no better way to celebrate the bright-colored foliage and warm breezes than with Pink and Green Weekend.
The eighth annual Pink and Green Weekend celebrates Mother’s Day on Martha’s Vineyard, as well as the arrival of the spring season. Let mothers know how much they mean to you with special gifts and time spent together.
On Friday, May 10, the weekend of festivities will begin with mom and daughter pampering in honor of the special holiday.
From May 10 to May 12, enjoy a mom-and-me spa day at Sea Spa Salon from 10 am to 5 pm.
Head to Lilly Pulitzer over the weekend and get a free gift with purchase, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Add to the girl time with mother-daughter shopping at Nell, and toast to the Pink and Green spirit at Stefanie Wolf Designs on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, Donaroma’s Nursery holds its Mother Earth Celebration from 4 to 6 pm. There will be yummy refreshments, arts and crafts for kids, fun giveaways, a winding labyrinth for little ones to play in, and horse-drawn carriage rides for the whole family.
On Saturday, the fourth annual Pink and Green 5K will start at 9 am at the corner of Atlantic Drive and Herring Creek Road, as runners head for South Beach toward the finish line. All proceeds from the 5Kk will go to the M.V. Cancer Support Group and Lyme disease awareness.
Head to Jennifer Burkin’s workshop at the Carnegie from 1 to 4 pm, and make your very own Island collage out of colored paper and a variety of other materials. Create Island-themed art and nature-inspired motifs that are perfect to hang on a wall (a great Mother’s Day gift).
The seventh annual Pink and Green dog show and celebration of pets is on Saturday, from 12 to 2 pm. Father Michael Nagle of Good Shepherd Parish will perform an animal blessing service from 1 to 2 pm at the mini park in downtown Edgartown.
After the dog show, head to Vineyard Square near the Eisenhauer Gallery for some live local tunes.
Finally, there are many Mother’s Day happenings that are sure to keep you busy.
