Hearing date set for Mill House project

The premature demolition of the Mill House in Vineyard Haven will be the topic of an upcoming Martha’s Vineyard Commission public hearing.

The historic structure, built prior to the American Revolution, was demolished in April without first undergoing review by the MVC, causing a public backlash. The building permit indicates only the interior of the building was supposed to be demolished.

The hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, August 22, at 7:05 pm at MVC headquarters in Oak Bluffs.

The house is owned by Lise Revers Trust. Peter Rosbeck is the contractor, and Patrick Ahearn is the architect on the project. They’ll be represented by attorney Sean Murphy at the hearing.
