The annual summer Oak Bluffs fireworks, sponsored by the Oak Bluffs Firemen’s Civic Association, were on full dazzling display Friday night.
The display drew a crowd of over 5,000 adults and children in and around Ocean Park, the Oak Bluffs Fire Department told The Times Saturday morning. Despite a large portion of the park being gated off, the public crowded along the gingerbread houses to catch a glimpse of the colorful pyrotechnics.
Unfavorable winds carried smoke and debris across Ocean Park and as far as Giordano’s Restaurant. Despite a smoky show, the public broke out into applause and shouts of joy as the show ended.
