The Vineyarders earned a cross-country split against the Nauset Warriors, Tuesday afternoon in North Eastham. The boys defeated the Warriors, 21-36, while the girls lost, 21-35.
Vineyarder Peter Burke won the boys race in 16:40. Nauset’s Finn Riley (16:56) was second. The Vineyarders claimed the next three positions, with Isaac Richards (17:16) third, Borja Tolay (17:17) fourth, and Kieran Karabees (17:23) fifth. Nate Porterfield (eighth, 17:54) and Vito Aiello (ninth, 18:02) also made the top 10.
Nauset took the top three spots in the girls race. Wren Christy led the Vineyarders, and finished fourth in 19:45. Her sister Eloise Christy (19:54) placed fifth, Catherine Cherry (20:51) was seventh, Yayla DeChiara (21:41) finished eighth, and Kaitlyn Freeman was the last Vineyarder to score points, placing 11th in 23:40.
