County Road will be closed for three days while drainage infrastructure is installed. — Oak Bluffs highway department

A stretch of County Road in Oak Bluffs will be closed to all traffic except local on Oct. 21, 22, and 23 for the installation of drainage infrastructure under the road to address the large puddles that form on rainy days.

Richard Combra, the town’s highway superintendent, told The Times the highway department is putting in an all-new drainage system with a new infiltrator that will catch water and silt. The town is using state funds for the nearly $413,000 project.

“For what we need to do under the road takes three days,” Combra said. “Then repaving for the next couple of weeks.”
