Tisbury Council on Aging – February 2021

0

The Tisbury Council on Aging continues to do outreach to keep in touch with our seniors. We are starting a new year, and hopefully it will be a better one. We are still working to serve our seniors, but the senior center is closed, and is only open to the public by appointment.

The SHINE counselor is available by phone to assist with getting secondary insurances to Medicare. Call the senior center if you need to talk to the counselor.

Arthur Bergeron from Mirick O’Connell, who gives legal clinics at the center, will be available by appointment on Feb. 11 to provide legal advice and answer your more personalized questions. Call 508-696-4205 to make an appointment. He will be at the center monthly. Arthur is continuing the presentations he was doing at the center through MVTV; watch for details.

The Food Distribution sessions will be held on Feb. 2 and 16, from 10 am to noon.
Bus passes for seniors are available at the center. Call for info.
We are taking fuel assistance applications. For information or to apply, call Joyce at 508-696-4205.

We are here to assist anyone in obtaining services, and Audrey, our elder companion, is still available to help people with shopping and errands. Audrey continues to keep in touch with her clients, even though she can’t come into the home.

Again, please give us a call if you need any information, or have any need that we can help you with. Stay safe.
