The Steamship Authority is diverting ferries from Oak Bluffs for the second day in a row due to a mechanical issue at the Oak Bluffs pier.
According to Sean Driscoll, a spokesman for the SSA, there is a problem with the transfer bridge in Oak Bluffs. The “cable on the transfer bridge is twisted,” Driscoll told The Times.
The SSA sent out email alerts about the diverted ferries, but didn’t indicate the reason. On Saturday and Sunday, the ferries were diverted because of weather as a persistent nor’easter packed gusty winds.
