Friday, July 16, at Featherstone brings Approaching Painting with Eva Cincotta from 9 am to 12 pm in the Art Barn. It is a class on watercolor, oil, and acrylic painting techniques that lead to quick, loose, and vibrant works. It is also offered on Mondays at the same time. At 12 pm, an A Gallery popup exhibit, curated by Tanya Augoustinos, is featured until 4 pm, and it continues daily through the end of July. There is also an Open Pottery Studio session from 12 to 2 pm, which provides non-instructional time for students to work on their own. Open studio hours are also available Sunday through Thursday. Featherstone Friday’s live music continues with the Dukes of Circuit Avenue from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This tribute to classic rock will take place on the lawn surrounding the Art Barn’s deck.

Monday, July 19, is another Musical Monday on the Featherstone campus. The live music begins at 6:30 pm, but who is performing is to be determined.

On Tuesday, July 20, from 10 am to 12 pm, Lucinda Sheldon will teach Beading: The Art of Knotting, a class that takes place in the jewelry studio. Then from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, you can take an Exploring Printmaking workshop from Allison Doherty. From 5 to 7 pm, Throwing Pots is offered by Frank Creney, which is a ceramics class for intermediate and advanced students. Also on Tuesday, there is a Photographers Salon at 7 pm that features the photography of Dan Waters. He will present his work and discuss his creative process and inspiration. This event is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, July 21, also brings many events, starting with Acrylic Painting from 9 am to 12 pm with John Holladay. Then Painting the Landscape in Watercolor takes place from 1 to 3:30 pm with instructor Lynne Hoeft. In the evening, the outdoor summer film series provided by the M.V. Film Society continues with the movie “Best Summer Ever.” The screening on the Featherstone campus begins around 8:30 pm, but the gates open at 7:30 pm, so you are welcome to arrive early and have a picnic.
