Marc Brown, author of the popular “Arthur” books and creator of the PBS kids’ series, will be at the Mariposa Museum on Friday, August 6, at 2:30 pm. Brown will be cheering kids on as they create found object magic wands with assemblage artist and former policeman Kevin Sampson, who recently appeared in cartoon form in an “Arthur” episode.

Brown, a Vineyard resident, recently announced that this will be the 25-year-old series’ last season.

Staff at the Mariposa Museum welcomes visitors to this free event for all ages. The museum is at 57 Circuit Ave. in Oak Bluffs. Visit mariposamuseum.org for more information.
