Mariposa Museum has Friday fun for the family

On Friday the Mariposa Museum will be hosting a free event for children and families where they’ll have the opportunity to create found object wands. The event will be held at the museum at 2:30 pm. People of all ages are welcome.

Marc Brown, author of the “Arthur” books and creator of the PBS Kids show under the same name, will be at the event to support children in making their own artwork. Kevin Sampson, an assemblage artist and retired police officer, will be guiding the participants in making their creations. Sampson was also in the “Arthur” episode “George Scraps His Sculpture.”

This year is the 25th and final season of “Arthur” on PBS Kids.
