On Friday, August 13, the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival will have a screening of the 2020 documentary “Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power.” The documentary is about Rep. Lee’s (D-CA) life growing up, her work in Congress, and her impact on other politicians, such as U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ). Lee will be present at the documentary screening, which will happen at 5:30 pm.
