The Coast Guard Auxiliary on Martha’s Vineyard is offering an in-depth Boat America class that provides the information needed to obtain a Massachusetts Boating Safety certificate. Topics include an introduction to boating, law and safety, operation and navigation, emergencies, using a trailer, and tips for water sports.
The course will be held at the West Tisbury Fire Department on State Road on Saturday, April 23, from 9 am to 5 pm. It is limited to 15 participants – first come, first served. The cost is $50 per person, but $30 for additional members of the same family. Some insurance companies may offer a discount on boating insurance for those who successfully complete the Boat America course.
