Around 60 volunteers gathered to plant thousands of beach grass plants at Lobsterville Beach in Aquinnah on Saturday.
Organized by the Aquinnah Natural Resources Department, individuals young and old came to the up-Island town for the event.
Planting beach grass helps to protect the dunes by creating a matlike structure under the sand, which supports the stabilization of the beaches and dunes.
