The YMCA’s annual winter indoor triathlon, Live Love Tri, held on Saturday, March 28, attracted 65 entrants, the most participants in four years of the event. The triathletes helped raise more than $8,000.
“It was touching to see people of all ages and abilities participating this year, from 10- to 16-year-olds in the youth heat, families, relay teams, people recovering from injuries who walk with a cane, and fitness buffs who compete in races regularly,” said Sarah Soushek, Y publicist. “One of the most compelling stories of the day was Rhoda Diamond, who participated to celebrate her 94th birthday, and rode the bike for 4.57 miles in 25 minutes. It was so heartfelt to see all participating to help their own health and wellness and help give back to our community.”
The overall winners were: 1. Tara Nitardy, 2. Jonathan Chatinover, 3. Beth Goodell.
