In this special spot, the lights stay on all year in the surrounding country darkness of Chilmark. Within this glowing and welcoming cafe, Pathways, a non-profit art space, features shows and exhibitions in music, poetry, digital media, dance, visual arts installations and more.
Pathways has set itself a goal of “catalyzing creative projects in the arts, writing, and collaborative forms within community.” When the frost is on the bough, indoors at the Chilmark Tavern all is warm and cosy and inviting as artists participate in every medium of performance art.
The space is home to an art gallery, a library of art and poetry books, DVDs and CDs for viewing and purchase. All events and resources are free in this tavern where new works are birthed, and works-in-progress are shared, along with fully realized artcraft.
Open seasonally throughout the winter.
