Suggestion for Oak Bluffs fireworks
To the Editor:
Just a suggestion to Oak Bluffs. The harbor/solstice day/party has blossomed into the best event leading to summer. I don't just say that because you can drink alcohol peacefully while walking Circuit Avenue enjoying eclectic music. The loose ability to enjoy the Ocean Park fireworks is a great addition.
However, the show being as small as it was should have been fired from the beach, as in years past for the August show. It's still done during the finale in August and truly emphasizes the brilliance of that location for fireworks.
Safety first, absolutely, but other than that, as long as we don't electronically amplify them, nobody can complain.
