Women's softball playoffs begin

Scoring four times in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Creamers beat the Rug Sox in the first game of a twin bill, Tuesday, at the War Veterans Memorial Park. Final score: 5-1.
All is not lost for the Rug Sox, as the playoffs are double elimination.
In the second game, the Shady Ladies were leading the Late Fees, 4-1 with one out in the top of the fifth inning when the game was halted by lightning strikes and rain. That game will be completed today at 6:15 pm at the West Tisbury School, with the winner taking on the second-seeded Snaps immediately afterward.
The Creamers will face the top-seeded Honeys, tonight at Veterans Park. Game time is 6:15 pm.
