Oulton A. Hues, 73, a longtime resident of Norwood and Edgartown, died in a plane crash in Brewster on Sunday, January 15.
Mr. Hues was born in Weymouth and educated in Quincy and Weymouth schools (class of 1957) and was a graduate of Northeastern University.
Mr. Hues was an Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy. He served from 1957-1961.
He was a manager and electrical engineer at Battelle Memorial Institute in Lexington for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he worked at Raytheon for 38 years. He was a member and treasurer of the Quiet Birdmen, “Q.B.’s” at the Boston Hangar. He loved flying and died doing what he loved to do.
He was the husband of Jacqueline V. (Revnoff) Hues and the son of the late Oulton S. Hues and Marjorie E. (Crowner) Hues.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hues is survived by his son, Oulton A. “O.J.” Hues Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Norwood, as well as his grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas Hues. He was the brother of Lynda Scartissi of Abington and Anita George of Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton will be held 9:30 am, Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 am. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 pm. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
