Carolyn A. Teixeira died on May 6, 2012 at Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 85.
Carolyn was born in Boston on July 3, 1926, the oldest of four children born to Manuel Alves Teixeira and Anna Nunes Teixeira. She attended Boston public schools and graduated from Boston University College of Liberal Arts. She received a Masters degree in Education from Framingham State College.
Carolyn began her teaching career at Annie F. Warren School in Wellesley. She worked for four years at the central office before returning to Warren School as principal. She held that position for seven years, until her retirement.
She was a member of several educational and social organizations. Her favorite was Circle-Lets Inc., a national women’s social organization, which she led as president from 1983 to 1985.
Carolyn was predeceased by her brother, Manuel A. Teixeira Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Belmira T. Robinson and Elaine T. Teixeira.
A memorial service for Carolyn and her brother-in-law, Julian K. Robinson, will he held at a date to be announced.
