Best bet on debt
To the Editor:
Would you give matches back to a known arsonist who had torched your neighborhood? Don't give the matches back to the Republicans.
Republican Ronald Reagan increased the national debt by 188.6 percent. Republican George W. Bush increased the national debt by 89.0 percent. Republican George H.W. Bush increased the national debt by 55.6 percent. Democrat Barack Obama increased the national debt by 48.2. percent. Democrat Bill Clinton increased the national debt by 35.6 percent.
All three Republican presidents since 1980 increased the national debt at a larger rate than either of the two Democratic presidents during that time. Which party would you trust to rein in the national debt? Vote for Barack Obama and Elizabeth Warren.
