Respecting religious holidays
To the Editor:
I was extremely surprised when the Oak Bluffs selectmen decided to hold their town meeting on the evening of Yom Kippur, the most important of the Jewish holidays. I am bringing this to your attention in the hope that, in the future, such scheduling may be avoided. It prevents any member of a religious faith from attending important, informative sessions.
