Tisbury Business Association hosts successful sidewalk sale

Bargains abounded, as did shoppers, at a sidewalk sale on Vineyard Haven's Main Street Saturday over the holiday weekend. The Tisbury Business Association's second annual Columbus Day weekend event ran from noon to 4 pm.

Asked about how their afternoon was going, shopkeepers manning the sale racks and tables outside Brickman's, the Green Room, and Le Roux replied with the same word, "busy." Although not all of the Main Street stores put merchandise outside, many had discounted items available inside. Some had store-wide discounts in effect.

The TBA's next fall event is a Halloween parade and party on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 31. It starts with a parade of costumed trick-or-treaters down Main Street, followed by visits to participating merchants for treats.
