To the Editor:
I am a sixth grade student living in California who comes to Martha’s Vineyard every summer. My name is Caroline King. Every summer when I come to Martha’s Vineyard, I walk to downtown Vineyard Haven with my friends, but no guardian.
You see, the only reason I can walk downtown without any guardian is because my mom knows that I am safe.
No alcohol being sold in Vineyard Haven keeps me safe for many reasons. One of these reasons is that there won’t be a lot of drunken people or car accidents.
Please keep it this way in downtown Vineyard Haven so I’ll be able to walk downtown with my friends. Thank you.
