The Oak Bluffs boys and the West Tisbury girls were winners of the quadrilateral track meet at the high school oval, Monday. Scoring was 5-3-2-1 for first through fourth places.
The OB Blazers earned 12 points in the three field events to the Westiz Hawks 10. Edgartown picked up 6 and Tisbury 5.
Ben Poole (WT) leapt 14’2″ to win the long jump followed by Dave DeOliveira (OB), Alex GordonBeck (OB) and Mathew Stone (WT).
Tisbury’s Patryck Nascimento put the shot 31’4″. Jack Yuer (OB), Alex GordonBeck (OB), and Matthew Stone (WT) were 2 through 4.
Best with the discus was Alexander Vukota of Edgartown at 82’10”; also winning points were Ben Poole (WT), Jack Yuer (OB) and Kevin Montambault (E).
On the track the OB boys collected 21, West Tisbury 19, Edgartown 6 and Tisbury 3.
Gabe DeOliveira won the 100m dash at 11.88, followed by Matthew Stone (WT), Jack Yuen (OB) and Cesar Bueno (E).
The 200m winner was Alex GordonBeck at 27:35. Then came Patryck Nascimento (T), Nevin Wallis (OB) and Matt Davies (E).
Matthew Stone (WT) was first over the hurdles in 13.16. Next were Spencer Schofield (E), Jonas Lukowitz (OB) and Josh Tate (E).
Alex GordonBeck of Oak Bluffs nosed out a threesome from West Tisbury in the mile at 5:46. Seconds behind were Ben Poole, Silas Berl, and Lee Faraca.
West Tisbury won the final event, the 4×100 relay, in 56.85. Only first place counted in the relay.
The girls meet
Oak Bluffs garnered most points in the girls field events led by Mariah Duarte who won the long jump at 12’11” and the shot put with a 25’11” heave.
Two through four in the jump were Leila Gardner (WT), Sabrina Reppert (OB) and Emily DeBettencourt (OB) and in the shot: Emily Turney (WT), Samantha Hargy (E) and Shannon Morris (E).
Emily Turney of West Tisbury scaled the discus 70′ to win the event. Emily DeBettencourt (OB) was second, Lucy Hackney (WT) third and Aubrey Ashmun (E) was fourth.
On the track, Oak Bluffs won the hurdles and the 200. West Tisbury reigned in the 100m and mile and won the meet-ending relay.
Winner of the 100m dash was Leila Garner (WT) followed by Amanda McKensie (T), Aubrey Ashmun (E) and Olivia Smith (WT).
First at 200m was Sabrina Reppert (OB) at 32.10 then came Olivia Ogden (WT), Emily DeBettencourt (OB) and Hadley Chapman (WT).
Trailing Mariah Duart (OB) over the hurdles in 13.79 were Olivia Smith (WT), Samantha Hargy (E) and Lucy Hackney (WT),
West Tisbury scored nine points in the mile won by Julia Neville (WT) in 7:00. Whitney Schroeder (WT) was second, Emily DeBettencourt (OB) was third and Pearl Vercrusse (WT) fourth.
West Tisbury won the 4×100 relay in 1:00.06.
