Dozens of winter-weary Islanders gathered at the Ag Hall Saturday night for the annual spring potluck supper and social. Defying the calendar, the weather outside was bitter, but the mood inside was warm and convivial.
After the meal, many of the attendees watched “The Queen of the Sun,” a film about the threat to honeybee populations around the world and the inspirational efforts of some extraordinary beekeepers to protect their charges.
