Last Sunday, students of the Old Sculpin Gallery’s summer children’s art classes gathered at the Edgartown gallery to celebrate their work. Approximately 100 children were involved in the program this summer, led by children’s art teacher and artist Amy Thompson Size. The topics changed daily throughout the summer, and included scrimshaw-style engraving, mobiles inspired by Alexander Calder, portraits inspired by Picasso and Frida Kahlo, and plein air painting on Memorial Wharf, just to name a few.
