Vineyard boys bury Nauset in hockey finale

The Martha’s Vineyard boys varsity hockey team overwhelmed Nauset High School by an 11-2 count in the final game of the season Friday night at the MV Ice Arena.

Seniors Brian Fraser (three-goal hat trick), Sam Burke, two goals and Tyson Araujo , one goal, led the way on Senior Night. Junior Alex Vukota and freshmen Tristan Araujo and Bryce Nelson also scored for the Vineyarders.

The state tournament-bound  Vineyarders finish the season as co-champions of the Eastern Athletic Conference with a 13-5-2 record and await tourney seedings and pairings to be announced Saturday afternoon by the Mass. Interscholastic Athletic Assn. Tournament play begins next week.
